The North American Diet

Body Coach Fitness has developed a bespoke -North American diet plan- With native
North American influenced food and cuisine. North America is the northern sub continent of the Americas and is the 3rd
largest continent in the world,it includes 23 countries including the USA, Canada & Mexico. It Includes the economic gaints
of the world and some of the most technologically advanced countires in the world.
From
around 1000BC people began to eat differently in North America ,the Pueblo people began farming at this time .They got
corn and beans and squash from the Olmec people of Mexico and they began to eat a lot of these -three sister crops ( corn,beans
and squash). Early on into 2000 BC people in North America ate only wild foods thhat they could hunt and gather Eg hence the
term Paleo Indian hunters and gatherer's .The foods they gathered depended on the environment in which they lived .Inuit
people who lived in the far north along th coasts of the Artic ocean and in Alaska ate a lot of fish and seal meat and gathered
seaweed. Chinook people who lived a little further south in the Pacific North West ( Modern Oregon & Washington) ate a
lot of salmon and wapoto ( which is like a potato).Further south ,Californian people ate a lot of bread made form pine nuts
and acorns.In the south west ( modern Arizona & New Mexico ) Pueblo people ate cactus fruits and pine nuts
and hunted birds & rabbits for meat and the people of the Rocky mountains ate a lot of mammoth ( until they all died out)
and they then started eating bison. Further East along th Mississipi and Missouri rivers,people ate a lot of fish and
gathered nuts and berries and the Cree people ate lots of fish and wild rice in the wetlands and lakes .On the East coast
the Iroquois and the Algonquin ate venison ,fish and pigeon ,turkey and rabbit all hunted and gathered .The Cherokee ate a
lot of turtle ,fish and venison ,sweey potatoes ,acorns and chestnut bread. An important high energy food for people hunting
and gathering was Pemmican an energy bar made from berries and chopped meats .Native North American farming soon spread to
other parts of North america and by 1000AD most people on the Mississippi valley and along the east coast were eating a lot
of corn ,beans and squash along with other wild foods.East coasts people also used alot of maple syrup and wild maple

The African Diet Plan

customised bespoke food intolerance testsing. Africa is the second largest continent in the world and is rich in geographic
and cultrual diversity.It si the birth place of Homo sapiens ( humans) and the land of origi for much of the worlds population.The
culture of food and eating and drinking in the different regions of Africa is important to people all acrodd the world.The
Nile valley continues to be a rich source of fish ,anaimal and plant food. In the African dry savannahs the sahara region
became arid after 6000 BCE nomad tribes raised cattle,goats and sheep, which served as part of the tribes food source.Crops
such as cereals ( wheat,barley, millet and sorghum) and tubers such as yams have become a staple part of an African diet.
The countries of North Africa border the mediterranean sea and are largely muslim .As a result their diet reflects
islamic traditions ,such as not permitting pork meat or any animal products that have not been butchered accoring to traditions.
Much of the Nort African diet is grain based and flat breads and the use of species is common. In Western Africa there is
more variation in staple foods ,rice is more predominant in Mauritania to liberia and across the sahel.Couscous is more prevelant
in the sahara and southern savannahs and along the ivory coasts of Nigeria and cameroon ,root crops ,primarily cassava and
yams are common.East Africa has extensive trade mirations with Arabic countries such as South Asia and the food staples
are potatoes ,rice ,matake ( mashed plantains) and maize .The horn of Africa ( Somalia & Ethiopia) is characterised by
spiced foods and foods prepared with chillies and garlic. Southern Africa ( outside of the temperate zones ) has a a greater
variety of fruits and vegetables including( bannanas , avocadoes, mangoes, tomatoes, and vegetables such as cabbage,potatoes
and onions all served with staple crops of maize and rice as stews. The most common dish - mealie meal or pap- in South Africa
( also known as nshima or nsima frther north) is usually eaten with stew poured over it- it includes a stew made of
boiled vegetables, such ads turnips, cabbage and spinach. White south Africans ( Dutch descendants called Afrikanners) ,Europeans
and Asian Indians have diets similar to their countries of origin. However the diet of Black Africans is increasingly dependant
on meat like th diet of western African pastural tribes.
